Great cologne!!!! December 21, 2008 This is an excellent fragrance, I only get compliments, expensive but definitely worth it. Nothing more to be said Armani Code is one of the best colognes on the market you can't go wrong with this purchase.
I received a copy of the fragrance!!! December 15, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
To my surprise I received a cheap copy of the fragrance CODE from Armani. I got suspiscious when I unpacked because the plastic was thicker than usual. I then opened the box, which smelled strong and weird. It had linked in the box. Looking at the bottle and its cap I realized that the bottle and the cap were all scratched. Also, the word "CODE" was not written in pure white, it was more like a beige, which is usually a sign of copied product. A bit despaired, I took the bottle to a parfum shop to compare the odor with another CODE. It was obviously different!
I then wrote to the Amazon and the seller who wrote me back quickly and were very sorry about my bad luck. The seller asked me to send the bottle back and promised a full refund. He will works it out with his supplier.
I know many people are happy with their purchase (that's why I decided to give internet a try), I guessed I was just unlucky?!
Armani Code December 4, 2008 Got this cologne for my 15 year old nephew for Christmas since my sister told me he is sneaking into his father's room to use his. So he must really like it alot. Great prize on Amazon!
Superb men's evening fragrance July 6, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Actually I do not use colognes much, but there are times when it is a nice addition.
I seem to be drawn to the Armani products and feel this is the one that I find to be appropriate for a special evening out.
This subject is obviously very subjective, since I've known some women that still love old spice above anything else a man can wear. But this cologne has a very clean fresh scent that seem invoke romantic tendencies. Overall making this a superb men's evening fragrance, but this is simply my opinion.
Get a hold of tester vial if you can, or ask to try it at the mens counters or mens stores. I think you'll agree with me on this one.
Armani code, a scent t for the matrix loving public July 6, 2008 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
Notes: Top: Citron Middle: Olive Blossom, Aromatic, and Anisey Accents Base : Tonka Bean, Blonde Tobacco, Gaiac Wood, Smoky
I am finding more redeeming qualities in this one, then in the other armani's. While the adverts come off as a bad case of The Matrix trilogy hangover (dark shades, spandex and slo-mo bullet dodging is so played out!), the sleek curvy dark bottle with just the right degree of curvature and heft isn't as embarrassing.
Code opens with a citric blast which is a bit unusual; its hard to describe. It smells citrusy alright, but theres something medicinal and gaseous about it with a floral hint. Its interesting to say the least - the floral note is probably the olive flower, which isn't as sweet or intense in its scent profile as something like tuberose. The heart notes amp up the intrigue factor with a dose of anise, its tangy sweet character continuing from where the olive flower and citrus combo left off. The smooth and suave creaminess of the tonka bean makes its appearance shortly thereafter. And here lies the problem - the transition from top and middle notes to the base takes minutes...5 minutes to be exact. Thats too fast for a Matrix wannabe. Slo-mo, take your time to develop. Thats not to say that the base is bad; its chockfull of tonka bean with a dry woodiness about it (with a light smoky character) thanks to the guaic wood. The end effect is of a light, creamy, slightly woody skin scent, with good longevity but unfortunately also a low sillage.
The quality of ingredients is decent, and there are distinct phases of development. Code however is less interesting than its orange blossom laced womens counterpart, and reveals its trump cards too early. With that said, it qualifies as a good discreet/office scent.
It has also made Armani a ton of money already, and just having both Code and Aqua di Gio in your wardrobe is a pretty respectable option for a casual fragrance fan. I dont care much for this musky light skin scent ( there are better musky scents on the market, but for some strange reason women like it a lot ..
that last statement itself will now entice hordes of teens to stock up on the Matrix love juice. And maybe i will buy a small bottle...maybe
What is the Code ? Nice, but way out of the Creed, Cartier and Chanel scents.
