good review book for NCLEX-RN July 28, 2010 M. E. Geertsema (West Virginia, USA) I used this to study for the NCLEX-RN. It covered a lot of material and was a good refresher course before I took the NCLEX. The information is presented in a broken down manner that is easy to read, and there are many diagrams and information boxes to refer to. I think I'll even keep this one around as a reference book instead of reselling it. The questions (with rationales) in the book and on the CD were helpful and I felt like I was getting good preparation. The CD-ROM had a lot of alternate format questions that I recommend going over, too. I would recommend this one to a nursing student, however I wouldnt use this review book alone if studying for NCLEX-RN. I recommend getting an NCLEX-RN test stategy book (I used the Kaplan one) along with this because it devotes a whole book that tells you "how" to take NCLEX and use critical thinking to answer questions instead of just a small chapter in this book. This review book did explain a bit about the NCLEX and test taking strategies in the beginning of the book, but I didn't find as helpful as the other book I used.
Saunders Comprensive Review July 26, 2010 I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that kindle has finally included this book. Saunders is one of the best review books out I am excited and elated. To me a nursing student this means carrying around 1 less resource book, I have been periodically checking the kindle store and to my surprise here it was.
horrible experience July 12, 2010 tyty This seller is horrible, he took my money, i never receive the product and he will not respond to my e-mail. Other buyers beware!!
Very very good! July 2, 2010 Leontina L. Moldovan It is the best book ever.
I am a international trained nurse so i needed a book wich to help me study again everything in english. I bought this book and it proved to be the best. The NCLEX type of questions are exactly the same as in this book. I passed my test with 75 questions from my first try. And also i have to say that i graduate my school 3 years ago and never practice since so this book helped me to remember everything i studied once and to pass from the first try the Nclex. Buy this book, study hard and you will have the best results. Good luck!
Breaks it down to the basics June 24, 2010 C. McClain (TX) Although I just got finished with the fundamentals of nursing, I can tell that I will be using this book for awhile to come. There is so much information here! It breaks down the information that you get in those huge textbooks to a manageable outline. That makes it easy for review for tests (primarily the NCLEX) and a concise explanation of something you may not understand from your class text. There are loads of questions and explanations, both in the book and on the CD-ROM, just as the description says. However, it is not as detailed on some subjects, which is why it is a review and not a replacement for textbooks. There are other books out there if you need more specific help in a class that will go into more depth than this one. But this book does what is says its would, and that is what counts. The basics that you need to know for safe practice as a nurse is here!
