Product Description
This book provides knowledge of the historical, theoretical, ethical, and legal foundations of professional nursing. This resource explores the changing health care system especially related to health care economics, nursing in a culture of violence, and nursing in a culturally and spiritually diverse world. Also included is a chapter on returning to school after already practicing nursing in the field. The book serves as a refresher for topics and issues previously covered in nursing school, but also addresses issues that nurses will face in their new professional practice. An excellent resource for professionals in the nursing field. Specifically designed the transition from RN-to-BSN. These are professionals that have their RN, but are returning for their BSN to further advance their careers.

WARNING TO NURSING STUDENTS August 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Before you purchase this book, you should find someone who already has it and compare it with your nursing fundamentals book. I have the 4th edition of this book and Fundamentals of Nursing: Concepts, Process, and Practice (7th Edition) (Fundamentals of Nursing) by Kozier and Erb. When I compared them, I discovered that this book was simply the first few chapters of the Fundamentals book, copied exactly and repackaged in a new cover. When I found out that I was forced to buy something for over half a day's pay that I had already bought for another class, I was so mad, I literally got red-faced.
Anyhow, purchase at your own risk. This is the equivalent to over 10 gallons of gas in your car or almost a month's supply of Ramen noodles. Don't be scammed into buying textbooks you don't need!!
A little vague, exercises good! June 15, 2006 Although the book was a little vague, the exercises and other examples were excellent.
Won't put you to sleep! April 28, 2006 I found this book very useful in my nursing classes. The information is presented in a way that keeps your interest.
Comprehensive Nursing for the Future BSN September 15, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an excellent book for any RN. All the information is cutting-edge, with internet-linked study questions and clearly written information. There are critical thinking exercises that challenge nursing topics such as ethics, legal aspects, and nursing theories, just to name a few.
